How to Mount a Flag Bracket on Brick Without a Ladder

Brick and masonry are among the most durable surfaces for a flag mount - but they require the right hardware and a smart installation height. With the VersaMAST, a single one-time installation gives you lifetime ladder-free access.

1. The Setup (One-Time Installation)

To avoid using a ladder in the future, mount the VersaMAST track directly onto your brick masonry at a height where the bottom of the track is within comfortable arm's reach.

• Tools and hardware: The system includes an installation template and basic hardware. For brick, use masonry anchors rated for the wall to secure the heavy-duty aluminum track.
• Height positioning: Mount it so that when the carriage is in the lowered position, you can easily reach the bracket holder while standing firmly on the ground.
• Drill into the brick, not the mortar: Solid brick generally holds anchors better than mortar joints. Use a hammer drill with a masonry bit sized to your anchors.

2. Operating Without a Ladder

Once the track is on the brick, you never need a ladder to display or change your flag again.

Step 1: Lower

Slide the carriage down to the lowered position, bringing the bracket to chest or waist level.

Step 2: Insert

Place your standard 1" flag pole securely into the bracket holder - no awkward lifting required.

Step 3: Raise

Slide the carriage upward along the track to move the flag into its high display position with minimal effort.

Step 4: Lock

Secure the carriage in the raised position. Your flag flies high on your brick wall, while you stayed safely on the ground.
